United Micro is actively seeking a highly motivated Firmware Architect to join our dynamic team in Dresden, Germany. Join us in developing cutting-edge Cellular Modem PHY for 5G NR and beyond, shaping the future of our cellular products.
Your Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, the
Cellular Modem PHY Firmware Architectwill:
- Work on the architecture, design, and implementation of cellular modem L1 control Firmware and PHY algorithms on DSP architectures for 5G NR and future standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional design team members, including digital design professionals, system architects, and algorithm designers.
- Influence HW/FW partitioning decisions, guiding the Firmware architecture to meet ambitious targets in performance, power efficiency, and cost.
- Initiate and drive Firmware architecture explorations, including proof of concepts, to challenge conventions and push boundaries.
- Design L1 Firmware interfaces that facilitate communication with the protocol stack, RF and signal processing hardware, and create Firmware design specifications.
- Establish best practices, methodologies, and standardized processes.
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven expertise in wireless systems design and Firmware architecture.
- Over 10 years of experience in Firmware design and development.
- In-depth understanding of DSP architectures.
- Proficiency in LTE/5G NR physical layer concepts and knowledge of relevant 3GPP specifications.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Ability to work independently while providing guidance and mentorship to theengineering team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
